Landholders and community members have an opportunity to put their views to the Senate Select Committee on Unconventional Gas Mining. Informally known as the “Bender Inquiry” (in memory of late farmer George Bender), the committee is to inquire on the adequacy of Australia‘s legislative, regulatory and policy framework for unconventional gas mining including coal seam gas (CSG) and shale gas mining. If you have experiences to share in relation to the human, social, environmental and financial impacts of CSG, this is your chance to have your voice heard. The Committee is to provide a final report to the Senate on or before 30 June 2016.
